SAP and AWS Expand Their Digital Transformation Partnership

The News: SAP and AWS (Amazon Web Services) are expanding their longstanding partnership to accelerate digital transformation for customers by now offering SAP’s cloud adoption tools, RISE with SAP, on the AWS platform. RISE with SAP on AWS will bring customers a wide range of digital transformation tools, including managing their cloud operations, providing broad cloud ERP, and more. Read the SAP announcement on RISE with SAP and AWS.

SAP and AWS Expand Their Digital Transformation Partnership

Analyst Take: SAP and AWS furthering their existing partnership to help customers with their cloud digital transformations is a smart and well-timed offering. Cloud is not simple, many customers learn, and RISE with SAP on AWS could provide a big confidence booster for enterprises that may have been challenged previously by their cloud strategies.

Enterprise customers have already been able to take advantage of joint SAP and AWS partnerships for about 15 years, but this latest offering focuses specifically on accelerating cloud adoption by incorporating a valuable collection of useful targeted features and extensibility services.
RISE with SAP is built to allow businesses to bring in the services and features that best fit their unique needs while using AWS’s reliable and secure global network, resilient infrastructure, and constant technical innovations.

RISE with SAP takes a holistic approach with technology and business processes, while giving customers access to bring in powerful tools such as advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities from AWS. These valuable capabilities are one of the main value-adds in this RISE with SAP on AWS expanded partnership, giving customers incredible new services that can be managed by SAP, taking the load off enterprise IT staffs.

Other important features of RISE with SAP on AWS for enterprises include a joint reference architecture to support complex customer requirements, which will be helpful for customers to work with the combined SAP and AWS platforms.

The joint reference architecture comes through the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), which is globally available on AWS. SAP and AWS combined to create the joint reference architecture which enables extended use case scenarios for customers and brings together the strengths of federated SAP and AWS services. The joint reference architecture was created to help guide customers in using the combined services from SAP and AWS to achieve their digital transformation goals.

To me, this joint reference architecture is a critical component to bringing this all together for customers and helping them to achieve improved and more manageable cloud and business performance.

For resellers and channel partners, RISE with SAP on AWS will include joint marketing and planning networks across multiple channels, demand generation campaigns, and global sales efforts using a common framework that allows teams to work jointly with systems integration partners.

And also for resellers, RISE with SAP on AWS will provide dedicated personnel around the world who will focus on SAP/AWS go-to-market needs.

More on SAP and AWS Delivering Combined Services

A deeper look into the RISE with SAP on AWS services reveals other important features in addition to cloud management and cloud ERP. SAP will also be responsible for customer service-level agreements, cloud operations, and broad technical support, giving customers plenty of confidence from established SAP and AWS experts in managing and empowering their expanding digital transformations.
Also featured are detailed analytics, broad business process intelligence, and outcome-driven services from SAP and its partners, adding even more flexibility and value-adds for customers.

SAP and AWS Expanded Partnership Overview

By bringing together RISE with SAP and AWS’s broad cloud offerings, both vendors are systematically making life easier for their enterprise customers who find that the cloud can be a challenging place. This is a smart and helpful partnership expansion by these two giants in the technology market, and it comes just in time to help more companies as they expand their continuing digital transformation efforts.

This is an excellent move and it will be interesting to watch how it is adopted and used by more enterprises through 2023 and beyond.

The vision behind everything in Futurum’s Custom Research practice is this: research should show you what is happening, what comes next, and what to do about it. It should be personal to each audience, easy for people to grasp, and structured so LLMs can reason over it accurately. And it should be fast and turnkey; you want answers now, not another project to carry for quarters.

Whether you are defining business, channel, or go-to-market strategy; evaluating vendors or justifying ROI; or commissioning research to fill an emerging market need, we have your back, with a program that answers your questions with the objectivity and credibility to drive real decisions.

To do it, we bring unmatched data to bear: Futurum research, surveys, and market projections; validated market feeds; ETR’s 15 years of insight from 10,000 technology decision-makers; G2’s buyer and user data; and what our analysts hear every day. Add leading primary collection, from AI-moderated voice interviews to surveys and analyst-led interviews, all turnkey, and every project comes out credible, nuanced, and actionable.

And we don’t just drop the results in your lap. For internal work, we provide analyst-led sessions, interactive dashboards, and a range of formats. For market-facing work, Futurum delivers turnkey activation and amplification that actually gets seen, by people and by LLMs, through our media and share of voice. This is research that moves decisions and markets.

We will meet you wherever you are, from a fast-turn brief to a multi-year program, and shape the work to your goals, timeline, and budget. The right program for your moment.

If any of this is useful, I would love to talk.
