2022 Workplace Update: Total Addressable Market of Conference Rooms Across Five Room Sizes

Access the Market Study: 2022 Workplace Update: Total Addressable Market of Conference Rooms Across Five Room Sizes

Overview:

The Futurum Group’s 2022 assessment of total addressable conference rooms, including installed room video solutions.

Three years ago, The Futurum Group revamped its process for estimating the total addressable market for conference rooms, and quickly became the UC industry’s de facto source for the total addressable market (TAM) of conference rooms. This report is a 2022 update to that analysis.

To achieve our high confidence level, we analyzed and cross-referenced various data sources, such as GDP, economic forecasts, the state of the global commercial real estate market, and other macro and micro indicators down to a regional and sometimes country level.

This report organizes the total addressable market for conference rooms by region and room size. New to this report is the expansion of room taxonomy from three to five-room sizes. This taxonomy now includes focus rooms, small (huddle) rooms, medium rooms, large rooms, and community/flex rooms.

Futurum also cross-references its extensive data regarding video conferencing solutions to arrive at an estimated count of installed group video conferencing equipment within these conference rooms. The installed base represents an actively deployed and used video conferencing system located in a shared space, like a conferencing room.

Lastly, this Research Note also analyzes how the workplace will evolve as we emerge from our pandemic-influenced world and enter into hybrid work models. It provides a practical framework for IT administrators and space planners to better define their workplace needs in the context of four core functional needs within the workplace.
