HP’s New OmniStudio X AIO PCs Deliver AI Performance to Desktop Users

The News: Given our focus on HP’s Imagine AI event announcements this week, here are some more new pieces of HP hardware I thought would be valuable to highlight, especially as AI PC features begin to proliferate from the laptop segment to the desktop segment: The first HP OmniStudio X 27- and 31.5-inch All-In-One (AIO) Desktop PCs look like a good warmup to what will invariably come down the product pipeline in the next 12 to 18 months. Read the press release here.

Analyst Take: Another announcement from HP’s Imagine AI event this week that might have flown under the radar is HP’s newOmniStudio X All-In-One (AIO) PCs. For PC users who need a reliable all-in-one desktop for creation and entertainment, both the HP OmniStudio X 27- and 31.5-inch All-In-One Desktop PCs deliver sleek, stylish options with useful built-in AI features, signaling that AI PCs aren’t just a laptop segment play.

The OminBook X AIO’s 27” and 31.5” each come with their own set of configurations, so users will be able to spec out their ideal configurations based on their needs (and budget).

OmniStudio X 27” AIO specs: Intel Core Ultra 7 155H (up to 4.8 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology with a 24 MB L3 cache, 16 cores, 22 threads) or Intel Core Ultra 5 125H (up to 4.5 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology with an 18 MB L3 cache, 14 cores, 18 threads); the graphics package is just Intel Arc Graphics, which might push high perf users to the 31.5 for the optional Nvidia upgrade; memory options are either 32 GB DDR5-5600 MHz MT/s (2 x 16 GB) or 16 GB DDR5-5600 MT/s (2 x 8 GB); internal storage options range from 2 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe Performance M.2 SSD, 2 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD, and 1 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD, to 512 GB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD and 256 GB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD, with display options being either a 68.6 cm (27″) diagonal, 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) 350 nits anti-glare non-touch-screen display or a 68.6 cm (27″) diagonal, FHD (1920 x 1080), anti-glare, 300 nits, non-touch screen version. Connectivity-wise, it features 1 USB Type-C and 2 USB Type-A (all at a 10Gbps signaling rate) on the side, and 1 USB Type-C (20Gbps signaling rate), 2 USB Type-A (10Gbps signaling rate), 1 HDMI-Out 1.4 1 HDMI-In 2.1/HDCP 2.3 [UHD] 1 HDMI-In 1.4/HDCP 1.4 [FHD] in the rear, and 1 headphone/microphone combo jack in the rear.

OmniStudio X 31.5” AIO specs: Intel Core Ultra 7 155H (up to 4.8 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology with a 24 MB L3cache, 16 cores, 22 threads) or Intel Core Ultra 5 125H (up to 4.5 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology with an 18 MB L3 cache, 14 cores, 18 threads); for graphics, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 (with 6 GB GDDR6 dedicated) or Intel Arc Graphics; memory options are either 32 GB DDR5-5600 MHz MT/s (2 x 16 GB) or 16 GB DDR5-5600 MT/s (2 x 8 GB); internal storage options range from 2 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe Performance M.2 SSD, 2 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD, and 1 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD to 512 GB PCIe Gen4 NVMea M.2 SSD, and 256 GB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD; and the display is a 35.6 cm (14″) diagonal, 2.2K (2240 x 1400), multitouch-enabled, IPS, edge-to-edge glass, micro-edge, Corning® Gorilla® Glass NBT™, Low Blue Light, 300 nits, low power, with 100% sRGB (IMAX Enhanced Certified). Connectivity-wise, it features 1 USB Type-C and 2 USB Type-A (all at a 10Gbps signaling rate) on the side, and 1 USB Type-C (20Gbps signaling rate), 2 USB Type-A (10Gbps signaling rate),1 HDMI-Out 1.4, 1 HDMI-In 2.1/HDCP 2.3, and 1 headphone/microphone combo jack in the rear.

Some additional features of the OmniBook X AIOs are as follows:

NPU-enhanced specs on the X 31.5 for maximum performance: While the Intel Core Ultra 7 processors on both models deliver plenty of horsepower for users, the optional NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 GPU (6 GB GDDR6 dedicated) upgrade on the 31.5” will help optimize intensive workflows like photo and video editing. As I understand it, it also enables a series of AI features such as HP AI Companion and Z by HP AI Studio.

Adaptable design: HP’s highly adaptive AI All-in-One design comes with a height-adjustable stand and new USB Type-C with DP-in/out. The USB-C connection supports video, audio, data, keyboard, and mouse control, and can be used as a laptop docking station to take advantage of the large display. AI-powered wellness features such as screen time and distance reminders help reduce fatigue. Presence sensing adds additional privacy and peace of mind whether working at home or in open spaces.

Entertainment and collaboration: With its large 4K screen, 5 MP camera, integrated Poly Studio audio, and Adaptive audio, HP has positioned the OmniStudio X 31.5 as “the world’s most immersive experience AI All-in-One,” and as the first All-in-One to receive an IMAX Enhanced certification for the ultimate visual and sound experiences.

HP’s commitment to sustainability: The OmniStudio X AIO uses 25% recycled metals and 35% post-consumer recycled plastics, and comes with EPEAT Gold with Climate+ and ENERGY STAR certifications.

Will we see some variant of the OmniStudio X in the “Ultra” configuration next year, presumably powered by AMD instead of Intel? No word on that yet, but given the excitement around this week’s announcement of the AMD-powered 55-TOPS (NPU) OmniBook Ultra, I can’t help but wonder if OmniStudio X users might find the prospect of an even more powerful OmniStudio X Ultra enticing (especially if it can enable the most premium on-device AI experiences available today…food for thought).

The HP OmniStudio X AIO is slated to hit the market next month at around $1,149.99 on HP.com.
