SC23 Recap: Arcitecta

Analyst Take: Arcitecta has a long history in data management with its Mediaflux product, a product with seemingly endless features, from metadata management to high performance data migration and data protection. This year at SC23, Mediaflux was announced to offer another significant enhancement, the Mediaflux Universal Data System.

The Universal Data System can integrate with third-party storage solutions to provide a unified, global file system with multi-protocol support and globally distributed access. The solution can work with both on-premises solutions from multiple vendors as well as cloud storage. Along with global access, the Universal Storage System provides data management, data orchestration, and data lifecycle capabilities across the entire distributed environment.

The Universal Storage System marks another entry into the Global File System market; however, this specific solution distinguishes itself with the robust data management capabilities that have already been established by Mediaflux. Additionally, the solution offers unique and compelling economics: Mediaflux is licensed based on the number of users, rather than capacity. This makes the solution an attractive offering for large data workloads, including the HPC and AI needs of those at SC.
