Rewards and Recognition Introduced Into the Oracle ME EX Platform

The News: At Oracle CloudWorld, Oracle announced new capabilities for its Oracle ME (My Experience) employee experience (EX) platform, which is found within Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM). Focusing on rewards and recognition, Oracle Celebrate allows for personalized, in-the-moment peer-to-peer recognition as well as data and analysis tied to recognition program adoption and usage. More information on this Oracle ME enhancement is in the Press Release found on the Oracle website.

Rewards and Recognition Introduced Into the Oracle ME EX Platform

Analyst Take: Recognition and rewards are an important and sometimes overlooked factor in job satisfaction and engagement, having not only an impact on work performance, attrition rates, and turnover costs, but also overall viewpoint on life, wellbeing, and the feeling of connectedness an employee has with their employer. It is a simple concept, but one that can pay dividends. Research from Gallup shows these programs can be tied to increased productivity as well as decreases in safety incidents and absenteeism.

Oracle launched its Oracle ME end-to-end EX platform in April 2022 and has been introducing new features to its core solution. Oracle Grow was launched in April 2023 and offers a hub for employees to have a clear view of the skills they need to advance in their current role, potential opportunities resulting from acquiring new skills, and possible career paths.

Oracle Celebrate Provides an In-The-Flow Way to Recognize Employees

“Employees are the foundation of any successful organization, and leaders need to ensure that their people feel celebrated and valued or risk losing both talent and productivity,” said Yvette Cameron, senior vice president, product strategy, Oracle Cloud HCM. “With Oracle Celebrate, organizations can now leverage a complete, unified EX platform that aligns recognition with company values to cultivate a culture of appreciation and recognition, while encouraging more impactful peer-to-peer interactions.”

The latest addition to the EX platform, Oracle Celebrate, supports a way to individualize recognition and reward programs according to overall organizational values as well as offer accessibility in an employee’s daily workflow, making it easy to use. Programs can also be tweaked according to specific countries or departments.

New Capabilities Highlighted by Insights and Real-Time Data

Specific capabilities include:

  • Peer-to-peer recognition, with the functionality to provide recognition in real time: The recognition can also be contextual and connected to business values.
  • Generative AI assistant: This assistant can improve submissions and make sending recognition and reward a faster process.
  • Nomination and event-based awards, such as for work anniversaries and promotions as well as an avenue for nominations for awards: This feature is tied into Oracle Cloud HCM so that when updates happen to employee profiles, Oracle Cloud can send an alert encouraging recognition.
  • Redeemable points: Employees earn these points when they are recognized.
  • Recognition insights dashboard: This feature gives managers a view into what people are being recognized for, finds top contributors, and determines which people might need a bit more attention or support.
  • Real-time recognition and engagement data: This data allows for constant monitoring of the programs so that administrators can see effectiveness, tying it into stats such as attrition, engagement, and productivity.
  • A social feed: This feed shows the stream of organization and team-wide recognitions and rewards.

All are important features but a few points stick out as particularly helpful. These programs need to be easy to use and not require a lot of steps. Companies will be able to connect Oracle Celebrate into systems employees are already using such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, SMS, and Oracle Digital Assistant.

Recognition programs must feel authentic, equitable, and personalized. Oracle Celebrate offers a way to tailor these moments, and the dashboard allows managers to make sure there is a balanced stream of recognition moments.

As Oracle Celebrate is built-in to the larger platform of Oracle ME, which is also part of Oracle Cloud HCM, data can be more easily connected to enable pattern recognition and actions. The ability to have a flow of recognition and engagement data in a clean dashboard allows managers to get a solid picture of overall usage as well as the ability to drill down into teams and business groups. This integrated ability to pull data together can help teams take the guesswork out the value of the program and demonstrate the ROI that is needed for companies to continue investing in these solutions.
