OpenText Announces New Enhancements in Its Cloud Edition 24.3 Release

Analyst Take: OpenText announced several product innovations and enhancements within its latest platform release, Cloud Editions 24.3. The newest release focuses on integrating advanced information management capabilities, trusted cloud solutions, robust security measures, and AI to optimize data performance to deliver better results, delivering enhancements within Business Clouds, Business AI, and Business Technology.

Accelerating Application Delivery within Business AI

OpenText is leveraging its Aviator AI technology to speed application development and testing, two processes typically requiring significant time and effort. Using testing bots to automatically generate codeless tests from manual tests, OpenText DevOps Aviator reduces risks, improves efficiency, and addresses labor shortages. Its integrated AI-guided smart assistant is designed to quickly provide answers and generate summaries on features, tasks, tests, and user stories, streamlining development workflows for greater efficiency.

Meanwhile, OpenText Fortify Aviator leverages AI to automate the manual processes of auditing and remediating SAST (Static Application Security Testing) vulnerabilities within a single tool. Fortify Aviator seamlessly integrates fix suggestions into the DevOps workflow for developers’ coding applications, providing user-friendly audits and explanations, simplifying the entire process. For data scientists responsible for model design, the new Aviator capabilities are designed to help protect against prompt injection attacks, model compromise, and vulnerabilities in LLMs.

Enhanced Engagement with Content within Business Cloud

OpenText™ Content Aviator is now available on OpenText™ Core Content, OpenText™ Extended ECM, and OpenText™ Documentum. It is designed to enhance automation and speed in content management workflows. The new capabilities enable users to interact with content more efficiently and extract knowledge in the cloud and on-premises. OpenText Content Aviator can now interact with high-quality video content, enabling conversion, streaming, annotation, and clipping directly within the platform. The ability to manipulate video content directly within the platform helps to improve workflow efficiency and user productivity.

Business Technology Enhancements

Generative AI is also being incorporated within OpenText™ Thrust Studio as a real-time digital assistant supporting faster application development processes by providing quick access to relevant code samples and API documentation within the Visual Studio environment.

Finally, OpenText Cloud for Government has achieved “fully authorized” status by the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP®) in the United States for OpenText Extended ECM and OpenText AppWorks. As such, these two applications join OpenText Fortify on Demand and OpenText IT Management Platform (ITMX) on the FedRAMP marketplace. FedRAMP authorization allows federal agencies within the United States to purchase and use software vetted to meet robust security controls and compliance measures.

Leveraging AI and Automation to Drive Digital Transformation

Like many application platform vendors, OpenText has rapidly embraced AI as a key enabler of digital transformation. The company is committed to delivering new platform releases every quarter, ensuring customers receive periodic function and feature updates. This is a major benefit and differentiator, especially important for organizations concerned about falling behind technologically, particularly as the pace of innovation around AI continues to accelerate. Furthermore, OpenText continues to drive digital transformation with its Titanium X strategic product roadmap, set to be delivered by CE 25.2.

A key benefit of using software-as-a-service (SaaS) platforms and applications is the ability to easily incorporate new features and functions, and roll them out to all users simultaneously. OpenText’s commitment to updating its platform regularly and consistently benefits its customers, as they can align their service offerings and enhancements with OpenText’s platform release schedules.

OpenText has also advocated using AI to enhance not just single, unrelated tasks but entire workflows. The company’s wide range of Aviators is clear evidence of the execution of its approach to distributing AI across knowledge, business, and development processes.
