The Vatican’s Swiss Army Guard is Leveraging Samsung’s Knox Suite Mobile Device Management Software to Manage Devices

Analyst Take: The Pontifical Swiss Guard’s move of selecting Samsung’s Knox Suite, Samsung’s mobile device management software, to protect its fleet of Samsung’s Galaxy XCover Pro and Galaxy Tab Active Series of ruggedized devices is an excellent move. As much as we are living in amazing times and tech innovation continues to connect the world breaking down social and communication barriers, public and private organizations must remain vigilant to protect all of their stakeholders.

Like other organizations, the Vatican City is also digitally transforming itself in many ways to help augment its staff for much safer and more efficient operations. The Pontifical Swiss Guard is using Samsung’s Galaxy devices, coupled with Samsung’s Knox Suite for surveillance, security, and other productivity improvements. How will it work? Staffers will be able to rove the grounds much more seamlessly, receiving alerts and updates on various activities across the grounds such as security alerts, group check-ins, and other special events for dignitaries where security posture can be elevated.

Some key benefits of the Samsung Knox Suite of mobile device management software are that it facilitates the automated and streamlined management of the Vatican’s device fleet. This includes the ability to automate and streamline device enrollment, have more advanced control of the operating system and easy access to data analytics for operational insights, along with remote device locking and location tracking.

In essence, Samsung’s Knox Suite allows IT administrators the ability to monitor remote devices much more seamlessly and can lock the device down in the event that it is lost or stolen, which is great. Often, we hear instances of employees in the public and private sectors losing their devices. The ability to remotely lock or wipe them is an additional layer of security, which is especially key for industries that have vast amounts of sensitive or confidential information.

Wrapping it up, The Pontifical Swiss Guard’s move of selecting Samsung’s Knox Suite to protect its fleet of ruggedized devices is an excellent move since it offers guards and staff in the field much more freedom to monitor the grounds and also allows IT staff much better flexibility and intelligence when monitoring its device fleet and other operations.
