Oracle Cloud Lift Services Plays Integral Role in Delivering OCI Benefits to 1K+ Organizations

The News: More than 1,000 global organizations are using Oracle Cloud Lift Services to accelerate the migration of mission-critical workloads to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Globally, customers and partners, including Ingersoll Rand, Volvo Group, Suramericana SA, National Pharmacies, Accenture, Cognizant, Infosys, and Syntax, continue to move enterprise and line of business applications, as well as complex integrations, from on-premises and other clouds to OCI. To support the growing demand and help more organizations take advantage of OCI, Oracle is enhancing the service offering with new capabilities that make it easier for customers to design and migrate their data lakehouse and AI-enabled application environments to OCI. Oracle Cloud Lift Services Plays Integral Role in Delivering OCI Benefits to 1K+ Organizations

Analyst Take: Oracle Cloud Lift Services is making substantial strides after its March 2021 launch in removing adoption barriers for organizations to accelerate their migration to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). With more than 1,000 organizations now using Oracle Cloud Lift Services, including a who’s who of major global players, the offering demonstrates that the cloud journey for most organizations requires a good deal more than just using an instruction manual to migrate their mission-critical workloads.

Why is Oracle Cloud Lift Services proving a success across the cloud ecosystem? I see Oracle understanding the fundamental challenge for most organizations is that the cloud journey is too complex and too novel to handle through using only their internal resources. Regardless of the stage of their cloud journey they need a trusted advisor, such as Oracle Cloud Lift Services, to build the confidence that is key to advancing their workload migration objectives and avoiding nasty DIY (do-it-yourself) surprises, especially across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Of note, Oracle Cloud Lift Services emphasized its ability to work with a multitude of partners, such as WANdisco, in fulfilling the unique demands of customers. I see this vast dexterity in working flexibly with a wide spectrum of partners as working to Oracle Cloud Lift Services competitive advantage. WANdisco’s LiveData Migrator capabilities can deliver massive data sets to the cloud up 38 times swifter than legacy, manual migration techniques, enabling Oracle to provide great value to clients and catalyze conversations as well as sampling code with clients on attaining best practices that go beyond the migration tools available.

I believe Oracle should consider acquiring WANdisco to strengthen its automated cloud migration proposition particularly for HDFS and Hive metadata applications as well as augmenting its overall AI-powered cloud proposition. Through such an acquisition, Oracle can make sure valued partner WANdisco does not fall into the hands of a rival and give customers more confidence about their data lakehouse and AI-enabled application migration missions.

I see Oracle Cloud Lift Services extensive set of top-tier partners, including global professional services firms, such as Accenture, Cognizant, Infosys, and Syntax, as playing a critical role at easing organization assimilation of essential data management and data analytics tools and capabilities. Increasingly I expect organizations to also handoff more key data services – such as migrating Hadoop on-premises implementations to a modern data architecture – to their professional services partners as they use Oracle Cloud Lift Services to ease their workload migration across OCI.

Key Takeaways on Oracle Cloud Lift Services Market Momentum

Overall, I believe that Oracle Cloud Lift Services success in rapidly broadening the number of organizations they support as critical to overcoming the fear of the unknown in embarking on a cloud journey or evolving their cloud journeys, including areas such as extensive support and administration of the Open APIs key to cloud innovation and optimizing multi-cloud environments. Oracle Cloud Lift Services swift market success shows it can be the trusted advisor vital to assuring organizations attain the peace of mind in areas like comprehensive security and cost management required to advance their cloud journeys. Now organizations can have confidence that their mission-critical applications avoid and minimize development disruption as their workloads are migrated to OCI and distributed across cloud environments – an utmost problem to solve.
