HPE Announces GreenLake for Storage Fabric Management
Analyst Take: For the longest time, configuring a Fibre Channel SAN has been a complicated exercise for specialists. The training required to become proficient is extensive and also required understanding of tools for specific hardware and software elements. HPE has made this much, much simpler with its SaaS offering that can do the configuring in an interactive manner, taking care of many of the seemingly esoteric details. Monitoring and ongoing administration are also simplified.
Making storage fabric management simpler is very beneficial for IT. The majority of Fibre Channel SANs are in production already but HPE GreenLake for Storage Fabric Management will be valuable for changes, new deployments, and ongoing administration. When support for Ethernet is added, the combined solution will be an even more valuable, too.
