Astera Labs Q2 FY 2026 Earnings Pull Scorpio Switch Leadership Forward

Analyst(s): Brendan Burke
Publication Date: August 5, 2026

Astera Labs posted record Q2 FY 2026 revenue as demand for its AI connectivity portfolio broadened across retimers, fabric switches, and cable modules. A third-quarter outlook far above expectations signals Scorpio fabric switches are ramping into the company’s largest product family a quarter early.

  • Astera Labs’ Q2 FY 2026 financial results
  • Broad-based portfolio drives record revenue
  • Scorpio fabric switches ramp to lead
  • Aries, Taurus, and Leo diversify growth
  • Guidance and Final Thoughts

The News: Astera Labs (Nasdaq: ALAB) reported results for the second quarter of fiscal 2026, ended June 30, 2026. Revenue was a record $392.4 million, up 104% year on year (YoY) and 27% sequentially, versus consensus of $361.3 million. Growth was broad-based, with PCIe 6 products contributing more than half of revenue and the Aries signal-conditioning line setting a quarterly record. Non-GAAP gross margin was 73.7%, and non-GAAP operating income was $153.5 million, a 39.1% margin. Non-GAAP net income was $145.8 million and non-GAAP diluted earnings per share (EPS) was $0.80; on a GAAP basis, net income was $153.1 million and diluted EPS was $0.83.

“Astera Labs delivered outstanding Q2 2026 results, with record revenue of $392.4 million, up 27% sequentially and 104% year-over-year, driven by broad-based strength across our portfolio, including record quarterly revenue for our Aries product line,” said Jitendra Mohan, Astera Labs’ Chief Executive Officer. “We expect momentum to accelerate in Q3 as Scorpio fabric switches become our largest product family, one quarter ahead of our prior expectations.”

Astera Labs Q2 FY 2026 Earnings Hit Record on AI Fabric Momentum

Analyst Take: Astera Labs is scaling faster than even its own recent guidance implied, and Q2 made the diversification of that growth clear. Revenue doubled year over year with retimers, fabric switches, and cable modules all contributing. The bigger signal is the guide, which calls for roughly 40% sequential revenue growth as Scorpio fabric switches ramp into the largest product family a quarter ahead of plan. The shift to switching moves Astera from selling connectivity components to supplying the fabric that stitches AI racks together. The company is broadening from a retimer specialist into a full rack-scale AI connectivity platform, and the numbers now back the ambition.

Scorpio Fabric Switches Move to the Front of the Portfolio

Scorpio delivered significant growth in the quarter, and management now expects the family to become Astera Labs’ largest product category by revenue in the third quarter, one quarter earlier than previously guided. High-radix Scorpio X-Series switches are in volume production, shipping in multiple configurations into scale-up applications at initial customers, with additional customers targeted by year’s end. The P-Series continued to expand across hyperscalers and AI infrastructure providers, giving Scorpio two distinct ramps rather than one. Switching carries higher dollar content per system than retiming, so the mix shift toward Scorpio lifts both revenue scale and the company’s strategic position. Astera is also engaging customers on next-generation PCI Express and UALink fabrics, extending the roadmap beyond current designs. The move into fabric switching is the clearest evidence that Astera is becoming an architecture-level supplier rather than a component vendor.

Aries, Taurus, and Leo Broaden the Growth Base

Aries set a record on strong adoption of retimers and gearboxes across scale-up and scale-out topologies, with the PCIe 6 transition driving both higher attach rates and higher average selling prices. PCIe 6 products together exceeded half of total revenue, split between Aries retimers and Scorpio switches, showing the generational upgrade is now the core of demand. Taurus grew as the company shipped more Smart Cable Modules for 800-gigabit active electrical cables in scale-out designs. A new 3.2-terabit Taurus family supporting 200 gigabit per lane for Ethernet and UALink is expected to roughly double the addressable market for that line to more than $4 billion. Leo, the CXL memory controller, added a design win at a US hyperscaler, with standard and custom versions expected to ship in 2027 for memory tiering and pooling. This breadth across four product families reduces dependence on any single ramp and gives Astera multiple ways to grow into 2027.

Ecosystem Positioning Deepens Across the AI Supply Chain

Astera used the quarter’s industry events to position itself at the center of competing AI rack architectures rather than betting on one. At Computex, it gave the first public demonstration of the Scorpio X-Series 320-lane fabric switch alongside optical connectivity and NVIDIA MGX reference designs. At AMD’s Advancing AI event, it showed Scorpio, Leo, and Taurus working with AMD Instinct platforms across PCIe, CXL, and Ethernet, validating an alternative to NVIDIA-centric fabrics. It also expanded its Taurus portfolio to the industry’s first OCP standard footprint, enabling a swap between low-power redrivers and long-reach retimers without board redesign. A larger Taiwan footprint and Cloud-Scale Interop Lab tie Astera closer to AMD, Arm, Intel, and NVIDIA at the point where systems get validated. Being protocol- and vendor-neutral lets Astera sell into whichever accelerator platforms customers choose, a durable advantage as the market fragments.

Guidance and Final Thoughts

Astera guided third-quarter revenue to $540 million to $560 million, far above the $416.6 million consensus and implying roughly 40% sequential growth at the midpoint, driven by the Scorpio X-Series ramp. It expects non-GAAP gross margin near 72% and non-GAAP EPS of $1.16 to $1.21, well ahead of the $0.81 consensus. The gross margin step-down from 73.7% reflects a richer mix of hardware-heavy switching revenue, a healthy trade for the scale it brings. Optical interconnects and custom silicon are the next growth vectors management flagged for 2027 and beyond, extending the runway past the current switching ramp. The main watch item is customer concentration, since much of the fabric switch ramp still rests on a small set of large hyperscalers. For infrastructure buyers, Astera is emerging as a credible, vendor-neutral supplier of the connective tissue inside AI racks, and its guidance suggests that role is scaling quickly.
