Newly Unveiled Google Cloud Consumption Packs are Designed to Accelerate Cloud Adoption

Analyst Take: Google Cloud’s consumption pack unveiling is the right solution at a time when cloud transformation demand is soaring. With this move, Google Cloud is streamlining the process for partners and their clients through the release of nine new specialty-specific consumption packs. Google, the world’s third largest public cloud provider, designed the consumption packs to accelerate the process of cloud adoption among managed service providers, system integrators, resellers, consultants, and other partners. The packs are specific to Deal Acceleration Funds and Partner Services Funds and are the result of pilot testing including key feedback from partners and end users.

It’s important to note here that Google Cloud’s consumption packs are not meant to replace Google’s Cloud Partner Advantage program, which delivers custom project services including access to resources, funding, incentives, and expertise. Rather, Google Cloud’s consumption packs are intended to provide a streamlined process that accelerates the journey to the cloud through Google Cloud-designed and tested project templates and predetermined funding options for a range of deployment sizes and needs.

The nine bundles comprising Google Cloud’s consumption packs cover the following specialty areas:

  • Infrastructure assessment
  • Customer consumption planning
  • VMware Engine migration
  • Compute engine migration
  • Database migration
  • Data warehouse migrationMigration from SAP
  • GKE application
  • Anthos deployment

Google Cloud’s consumption packs are designed with customers in mind, offering simplification and predictability in every part of the process, so its partners have access to thorough application migration and modernization plans to aid clients in their transition to the cloud. Google Cloud plans to add additional packs in the near future in response to partner response and demand. Google Cloud’s ongoing collaboration with partners is one of the keys to success for the cloud vendor, working to gain a larger foothold in the cloud market arena. Partners are part of what makes that happen, and solutions that make it easier for channel partners to better serve their customers — well, these are instances where everybody wins.

Google Cloud’s release of these initial nine consumption packs is a shrewd maneuver, as it promises to make it easier and faster for partners to do business with their own clients and solidify their bonds with the tech giant. This approach ensures all-around growth for the cloud provider, its partners, and their clients. By differentiating itself from other providers through platforms that increase the ease and speed of the cloud migration process, Google Cloud is clearly hoping to continue to drive business and reinforce its reputation as a premiere facilitator of cloud adoption. Demand for cloud transformation is soaring and this move from Google Cloud is a savvy, strategic one.
