Dalet – Completing Transformation at NAB 2023

The News: Dalet has made a major transformation, changing to match their customers’ and future customers’ plans to use cloud-based tools for managing video content. This means going beyond the familiar Media Asset Management employed to new management and workflows that are more dynamic/changing as new possibilities are considered. Read the new product announcement here.

Dalet – Completing Transformation at NAB 2023

Analyst Take: To make the transition, Dalet took their company private, brought back the CEO that had moved on to the board and reorganized. The company not only reorganized, but recognized that business processes had to change as well. Revenue needed to come from subscription rather than direct sales – moving to ARR as a measure.

Dalet has been successful in its transformation efforts, posting a great year. The company has not only delivered to existing customers, but has also attracted new (to Dalet) customers.

How Dalet is Evolving to Meet Changing Industry Needs

My initial interests in what Dalet had done were focused on their announcement around Modern Archive and Management. While this was part of their overall transformation and offering this as-a-Service, I realized that this could not have made an impact without the overall changes. The scalability of their archive and searchability are important and I suspect that customers will be citing that as a major value from using Dalet solutions.

The Dalet Flex media workflow solution is still the foundation, but Dalet offers much more than that and has continued to evolve to meet changing customer needs. Very impressive.
