IBM has extended the Spectrum and Spectrum Protect branding to a wide range of products. There are two products with essentially the same functionality for hierarchical storage management, differentiated only by the operating systems that they support.

IBM Spectrum Protect for Space Management is file archiving for Linux and AIX environments. Despite the common Spectrum Protect name, these are two different software products.
