The News: Lenovo announced its latest portfolio of Workstation offerings and updates to its ThinkStation desktop lineup at NXT BLD 2025. It’s made for hybrid and remote teams that need top-tier workstation performance without giving up on security or flexibility.
The company also introduced new ThinkStation P2 and P3 desktop workstations editions, built with the latest Intel Core Ultra processors and NVIDIA RTX PRO GPUs. The updated desktops include support for future Blackwell Workstation Edition GPUs, along with enhancements in memory, storage, and remote manageability to meet the needs of engineers, architects, data scientists, and creators.

The second-gen P3 Tower supports Intel Core i3, i5, i7, or i9 processors (14th Gen), with built-in NPUs, up to 24 cores, and a max turbo frequency of 6.0 GHz. It also supports NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell GPUs, capable of delivering up to 3,500 TOPS for AI-heavy tasks. The P3 Ultra SFF also packs significant power into its sub-4-liter chassis, offering 128GB of 6400 MT/s DDR5 memory, PCIe Gen 5, and comprehensive system management.
The ultra-compact P3 Tiny (just 1 liter) is built for portability without sacrificing AI performance or multi-display support. These updates show Lenovo’s focus on balancing compute power, form factor efficiency, and cost considerations for various professional needs.
The ThinkStation P2 Tower Gen 2, on the other hand, is Lenovo’s answer for students, teachers, and entry-level designers seeking performance on a budget. This 17L workstation boasts Mil-Spec testing, support for Intel Core Ultra 9 processors 285K with 24 cores up to 5.7GHz, support for professional-grade NVIDIA RTX 2000 Ada GPUs, and offers reliability and flexibility with PCIe Gen 5, fast 5600 MT/s DDR5 memory, and multiple M.2 slots. The “Lenovo Access” platform is a software and services offering designed to manage and interact with devices and solutions, which includes cloud services, device management tools, and security features. It includes platforms like Lenovo’s XClarity One (hybrid cloud management), ThinkShield (device security), Vantage (device optimization and support), ThinkSmart Manager (smart collaboration device management), and Lenovo Cloud Marketplace (software subscriptions). Here is a short breakdown:
- Lenovo XClarity One: Lenovo’s hybrid cloud-based platform for unified systems management aims to simplify orchestration and automation from edge to cloud.
- Lenovo Vantage: Helps organizations manage and optimize their Lenovo devices. It allows users to adjust settings, check battery status, update drivers, run diagnostics, and access support resources.
- ThinkSmart Manager: A platform designed explicitly for managing smart collaboration devices.
- Leostream and Lenovo Partner Platform: A partnership focused on providing remote desktop access solutions with Lenovo hardware and infrastructure, including VDI, hybrid cloud, and high-performance display protocols.

Tools like Intel vPro AMT, AMD Dash, and Lenovo’s own BMC make remote management secure and smooth, with protection from the ThinkShield platform.
Broadly, Lenovo has built a tightly integrated system with certified software, hardware, and services. Lenovo Access hinges on delivering consistent performance, integration, management, telemetry, and security across hardware and software, while pushing for a more Lenovo-centric solutions management ecosystem – a potentially lucrative add-on to the company’s already robust offering.
One of the most valuable but underindexed features of Lenovo’s Access offering is that it allows organizations to capture valuable telemetry they can use in real time to make better operational, planning, and purchasing decisions. Like competitors Dell and HP, Lenovo’s offering turns challenges like fleet management, resource optimization, remote access, AI development, and spatial computing into opportunities for IT departments to lower TCO, maximize ROI, and make better operational decisions.
The main open question around this type of offering is this: As organizations continue to mix solutions from competitors like HP, Dell, Lenovo and others across their business units, and fleet management / remote access suites of solutions like Lenovo Access increasingly compete for IT dollars, how will IT departments a) choose one solution over the others, and/or b) manage several simultaneously, should they choose to do so? While it is too soon to answer this question reliably, we will seek more clarity in the coming months.
