In a study conducted by Evaluator Group, two storage solutions were compared in a database environment. The first was a cluster of servers with the Xeon Scalable CPU running vSAN on internal SSDs and the second was the same servers connected to an all-flash array. This analysis was performed to see if a vSAN cluster is cost-effective with an all-flash array, when supporting OLTP workloads.
