The Dell PowerVault NX is a family of NAS systems based on Microsoft Windows Storage Server (WSS). The PowerVault NX systems are a family of both appliances and gateways to provide both file and block access to a Network Attached Storage system. Current family offerings for Dell PowerVault NX are:
- NX400 – entry level NAS appliance.
- NX3200 – mid-level NAS appliance.
- NX3300 – gateway system with clustering capability for high availability.
The PowerVault systems use Dell 1U and 2U servers as the base system with WSS software installed.
