Job Description

As VP, Practice Lead at The Futurum Group, you will lead efforts to define and guide product and market strategy within your technology sector. Leveraging deep industry expertise, you will drive innovation, provide strategic direction, and shape solutions that address the evolving needs of clients. This role offers the opportunity to influence the future of technology adoption, position The Futurum Group as a trusted advisor, and contribute directly to the growth and success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute the strategic vision and roadmap for your practice.
  • Align practice goals with overall company objectives and evolving market trends.

Business Development

  • Identify and drive new growth opportunities with clients and prospects in your market.
  • Partner with customer success, sales, and marketing to expand market penetration and revenue.

Thought Leadership

  • Monitor and analyze trends in your practice area.
  • Publish opinion-based research, contribute to industry reports, and represent Futurum at conferences, panels, and media appearances.
  • Establish The Futurum Group as a trusted authority in emerging technologies.

Team Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of Research Directors (onshore and offshore).
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Client Engagement

  • Build deep relationships with clients, understanding their priorities and challenges.
  • Provide data-driven insights and guidance through inquiry calls and strategic advisory sessions.
  • Position the practice and Futurum Group as a must-have partner for clients.

Project Delivery

  • Oversee execution of client deliverables, ensuring projects meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Introduce creativity and innovation into research methodologies and solution design.

Industry Collaboration

  • Partner with technology vendors, enterprises, academia, and research institutions to stay ahead of emerging trends.
  • Drive joint innovation opportunities and collaborative research.

Data-Driven Research

  • Own and maintain the practice’s market model.
  • Perform quality assurance on datasets and leverage intelligence platform tools to generate actionable insights.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 10+ years in a technology leadership, research, or analyst role with focus on emerging technologies (computing, AI, cloud, or related areas).
  • Proven ability to produce demand-driven research (reports, inquiry calls, vendor briefings).
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex datasets, run surveys, and test/validate hypotheses.

Research & Writing

  • Strong ability to write opinion-based research (writing samples required).
  • Skilled at combining quantitative data with qualitative insights to create actionable guidance.

Presentation & Communication

  • Excellent public speaking and facilitation skills—comfortable with small executive sessions and large conferences.
  • Media training or prior press experience preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, PhD) strongly preferred.

Leadership

  • Track record of building and managing high-performing research teams.
  • Strong business acumen, with ability to translate technical concepts into client-ready insights and business strategies.
  • Experience navigating ambiguity and delivering results in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

Success Measurements

Quantitative Metrics

  • Practice revenue growth, client acquisition/retention, and project profitability.
  • KPIs: revenue targets, project margins, client satisfaction scores.

Qualitative Metrics

  • Market positioning and visibility in the computing and AI sectors.
  • Client, partner, and stakeholder feedback on value delivered.

Thought Leadership & Innovation

  • Volume and impact of published research, conference engagements, and media mentions.
  • Recognition through awards, citations, or industry influence.
  • Development of proprietary frameworks, methodologies, or data models.

Job Description: Senior Director of Marketing

Key Responsibilities

Product Marketing Strategy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product marketing strategy aligned with TFG’s mission and business objectives.
  • Define and communicate the value proposition of TFG’s products and services to target audiences.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align product marketing initiatives with company goals and market trends.

Product Launches

  • Lead the go-to-market strategy for new offerings, ensuring successful launches and adoption.
  • Create compelling messaging and positioning for data-driven products, highlighting their unique value.
  • Work closely with research and product teams to ensure accurate and impactful representation of new offerings.

Website Copy and Branding

  • Oversee the development of website copy, ensuring it reflects TFG’s brand voice and effectively communicates product benefits.
  • Collaborate with design and web teams to optimize user experience and drive engagement.
  • Ensure consistency in branding across all digital and print materials.

Email Campaigns

  • Design and execute email marketing campaigns targeting current customers and prospects to drive engagement and conversions.
  • Develop segmented email strategies to deliver personalized and relevant content.
  • Analyze campaign performance and optimize for continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with sales, research, product, and content teams to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging.
  • Act as the voice of the customer, providing insights to inform product development and marketing strategies.
  • Work with the events team to support product-related webinars, conferences, and other initiatives.

Social Media Management

  • Oversee TFG’s social media channels, including strategy, content creation, and community engagement.

Brand Stewardship and Sales Enablement

  • Support field activities, including events and customer engagements.

Team Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing product marketing team.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in product marketing, preferably in the technology, research, or advisory space.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and marketing data-driven products or services.
  • Experience managing social media channels and executing email marketing campaigns.
