Richard Gordon, VP & Practice Lead for Semiconductors at Futurum, said, “Organizations are increasingly prioritizing AI-driven data center modernization to support higher processing power, AI workload efficiency, and cloud integration. The shift toward AI-optimized hardware and energy-efficient infrastructure reflects the need for faster computing, reduced latency, and seamless data flow, which is reflected in the significant increase in planned 2025 spending on AI Compute Services.”

Key findings from the report include:

  • Enterprises Leverage AI Compute Across Diverse Use Cases: Conversational AI (64%) leads adoption for chatbots, virtual assistants, and NLP applications, requiring low-latency AI chipsets optimized for speech processing. Predictive analytics (63%) plays a crucial role in forecasting trends, customer behavior, and equipment failures, relying on high-speed AI accelerators.
  • Shift Toward AI Server Vendor Diversification: The survey reveals that 69% of organizations plan to change or add new AI server vendors in 2025, reflecting a strong push toward high-performance, scalable, and cost-effective AI infrastructure. Vendors such as Dell (49%), IBM (45%), Cisco (45%), and Oracle (44%) are the top choices for enterprises looking to upgrade their AI environments.
  • Complexity and Integration Challenges Hinder AI Deployment: Enterprises face significant challenges in AI adoption, with 35% struggling with legacy system integration, 30% citing complex AI technology stacks, and 32% facing IT resource constraints. Additionally, 26% of enterprises report skill shortages, while 27% express concerns over data quality and governance, further delaying AI deployment.

“While some enterprises remain committed to existing vendors, others are actively evaluating scalable AI solutions that align with future business needs,” noted Gordon. “Vendors must offer adaptable, high-performance AI chipsets and infrastructure solutions to meet the growing enterprise demand.”
